
History
-Königsberg was established by the Teutonic Knights in East Prussia on September first in 1255.
 -When the Teutonic Knights were dismissed and the Duchy of Prussia was formed, Königsberg was made the capital.
 -When Prussia became a kingdom in 1701, Berlin was made the new capital, while Königsberg became a the official coronation city.
 -Whenever Berlin risked invasion during 18th and 19th century conflicts, the Hohenzollerns always fled to Königsberg for protection.
 -In the Napoleonic Era, Königsberg and other East Prussian cities were centers for revolution and revolt against French control.
 -During WWII, Königsberg and East Prussia the center once again for dissent, this time against the Third Reich.
 -Königsberg and East Prussia were besieged by Russia and Belarus. Königsberg capitulated on April 9th, 1945.
 -Königsberg was changed to Kaliningrad (after Mikhail Kalinin) in 1946.
